Mobile Marketing Trend or Fad

It is no secret that world wide we as a society are becoming more and more dependent on the ability to access information to help guide our lives on a daily basis. Whether it is looking for a vehicle to just a daily lunch deal accessing our smartphones to get the information instantly and in real time has grown in popularity to levels never seen before.

We are now well on our way into 2012 and along with it comes new mobile marketing opportunities that your business should follow as you develop marketing campaigns to spread the word about your brand and products and services.  As mobile technology improves and the general masses catch up with the advances, businesses should follow suit closely and observe the interests and behaviors of users regarding mobile phone trends and use. Having YOUR finger on the pulse of this powerful venue is becoming more critical then ever before. As you travel into 2012 and beyond statistics are proving without doubt that the survival of your business will be determined by your ability to implement technology into your future marketing plans.

Mobile Use & Access

Mobile Marketing

In 2011 the use of Mobile phones exploded with statistics showing corporate use of websites alone grew over 200% in under a year and also showing an unprecedented rise in text messaging, smartphone purchases and mobile advertising at the same level of growth!

Mobile Websites have become a hot commodity when it comes to retailers showing a growth factor of 37% in 2011 alone compared to 12% in 2010!

So what’s the BIG deal you ask!

Well the big deal is this; The best of Entrepreneurs know that especially in today’s economy surviving as a profitable business requires flexibility and the willingness to change with the times. We are in a fast moving world of technology where it is easy to get left behind. Money is tight, customer loyalty is waning, cost of doing business is rising beyond belief. Tapping into the Internet will cut your marketing costs dramatically and enable you to reach your specific customer every time you have something to say… how powerful is that?

The basics haven’t changed… It’s crucial in getting your name out into the market place, in front of YOUR specific type client or customer and keeping it there!

What has changed is HOW that is done!

Marketing to the consumer has shifted away from the one way broadcast to a “multi-point conversation” and Mobile Marketing is leading the way along with social media! The blanket style advertising approach has fallen by the wayside like the door-to-door salesman. The old school ways of marketing, time and time again, prove to be costly, noneffective and time wasting.

Here is the key people! What is unique about mobile marketing is a company’s ability to reach consumers when they are closest to buying. We do it at 4 different levels. See for yourself!

Here is an example and question… Are your customers more likely to go straight home after a long strenuous day at work to cook dinner OR decide instead on a night out to dinner at YOUR restaurant right after receiving a text message at 3pm from YOU with a dinner special for that night? How about one on Friday or Saturday afternoon with a drink special, a weekend dinner special or any other type offer? This is powerful stuff that has the ability to grow your business like no other advertising venue can.

Mobile Marketing is no fad but definitely a trend. A trend with strong   proof through  statistics showing it’s the place to be!

Online Video Marketing Power

Video Rules

In today’s economy getting your message out to both your new and current customer base has reached a level of critical importance. Entrepreneurs have become desperate to find the most effective and affordable way to market their business and services.

The new phenomena of course has become Mobile & Social Media Marketing via the Internet. With the many different venues available when it comes to Internet marketing the most powerful one that stands apart from the pack is Online Video Marketing. Online Video Marketing is using the power of short videos to promote yourself, your business or your products across the Internet. This type of marketing doesn’t come any more powerful and as far as that goes not any cheaper! Once you have managed the expense of creating a strategic marketing plan and after producing your videos they can be put out on the Internet fairly quickly staying out there 24/7/365… non stop! If you had your advertising content out there constantly just think how much would it cost you if you were using old school marketing techniques like Yellow Pages, Newspapers, Magazines, Direct Mail, Radio or even Television. Honestly, it would be impossible to do just by virtue of the cost alone.

Now, your individual video can be produced at many different levels from using the basic hand held video recorder with no special effects to the professional high end video recorder with green screen and special effects. No matter which way you go statistics show all levels have proven to produce great results. Actually, it has proven that the lower more basic videos convert higher than the high end videos. Producing your videos is the first step of many and the key or most important thing to remember with all of this is having a powerful distribution system in place to get your content out there on the Internet and in front of the right eyes. That’s the proverbial nail in the coffin!

Everyday millions are using the search engines, Google, YouTube, Yahoo and Bing to find businesses who can meet their needs and wants. Statistics show that 90% of those people will click on the first page of all the search results. Is your site or links showing up on that first page or is it your competitors?

Did you know that according to Forrester Research:

  1. A video that is in Google’s index is 53 times more likely to be found
on the first page of results.
  2. That over 60% of all web traffic is coming from online videos.
  3. 50 of the Top Internet Retailers all feature some type of video on the
front page of their web sites.
  4. Approximately, 1.2 Billion videos are streamed from YouTube daily!
  5. In regards to social media marketing usage Online Video tops ALL
except Facebook in relation to percent of people using it.

A New Media Revolution has already started out on the Internet and it’s happening through Online Video Marketing. Statistics show that 30 Billion, yes Billion, videos are viewed each and every month in the US alone and Internet Video is 60% of all Internet traffic! In July of 2011 alone, 180 Million people watched online videos for an average of 18.5 hours per viewer! Video has become so large that YouTube is now the 2nd most used search engine right behind Google.

Oh and by the way, YouTube is technically not even a search engine!

If Businesses expect to survive into the near future Businesses need to adopt Social Media Marketing into their advertising plan & budgets. It’s that plain and simple!

Basic 4 For Growth

We all know that having a game plan and specific goals is a crucial part to being able to move closer to where we need and want to be in life or business. Knowing this we must ask ourselves…“Are we planning and constantly changing everything so much that we end up never achieving or completing anything within our business?”

Below are what we consider… “The Basic 4 For Growth”!

CONQUER FEAR
Why do we get stuck or never follow through on great ideas? We get stuck because of the single probably most powerful emotion known to us… FEAR! We have the fear mostly because we are afraid to FAIL! The thought of failure in most minds stops many of us from achieving what we truly desire. We all worry what other people think of us.

Some of us really don’t care what others think BUT still never take that most important step after conquering fear and that is taking massive action. When you start to execute your plan (massive action) you will discover that you will have energy and momentum! Once at that level of energy and momentum you will have achieved the sense of NO FEAR!

TAKE ACTION
If you want to move forward and achieve what you actually have set out for then you need to take action. It is incredibly easy to be in the IDEA STAGE! Just think how many times have you and your friends or people who have been together in some type of social setting and started to throw around a GREAT idea. Now, how many of those great ideas were actually followed up on by someone? Yes, probably none! Why not… because nobody decided to take action!

What we need to be is careful of getting stuck in that idea stage and turning into the puppy chasing its tail syndrome. Talking about or planning out an idea is the real easy part but taking action is the most difficult!

GET HELP!
So many Entrepreneurs never see the forest beyond the trees! As Entrepreneurs we take deep pride in our accomplishments (good thing here:) within our business ventures that we become closed minded to simple outside help from others. What a mistake! Most of the big names out there became that way due to team work and outsourcing. Not only is it important to get things right but it is as important to get things done!

A man is no island nor should be his business so I have always said “Do what you do best and outsource the rest”!  With a sharp eye on who you outsource to and making sure they possess the same basic business philosophy as yourself outsourcing your weaker strengths keeps you moving forward. Also, bringing in different perspectives on your ideas can help you find your special branding image.

DON’T QUIT
So now we have decided to take this awesome idea and act on it! We have thought it through, a plan on what we are going to do is put together with goals and milestones included. We overcame the our fears and followed through with massive action. The only thing in mind is to move forward one day at a time using our plan as a guide. Energy, momentum and the excitement has us all fueled up for certain success!

Now, time passes by and things are progressing well but not as fast as we thought. The pace starts to create some boredom and dissatisfaction. Now we are thinking twice about what we have gotten into. STOP!!!

This is a normal chain of events and mindset that occurs with everyone and this is when you DON’T QUIT! What most Entrepreneurs forget is that a plan is just that “a plan” and a plan is meant to be changed like rules are meant to be broken! :)

A plan is meant to be a base to what you plan to do but not a final course of action. It is important to know that being flexible and by knowing your business and your clients that is what will guide you into the changes that may be necessary for steady positive growth.

Fighting Instincs

Fight or Flight

Is your inner voice pro-FIGHT or pro-FLIGHT ?

As you sit and read this, yet another “daily grind” has either begun, is in the process or has ended for every one of us! How many times have you thought “Boy I wish I could be doing something different”? The desire to advance ourselves personally and publicly constantly enters into all our minds at one time or another. It’s truly a natural instinct. We see a favorite sports car zip by us on the highway and we think “Wow, I would like to get myself one of them” or… You notice a beautiful newly built home and you think “Hmmm… If I could move my family in a place like that”! or… Maybe you simply see a family in the park enjoying a warm sunny day with each other and you think “Only if I had the extra time”!

Why then is the reality of our life so often completely the opposite of our desired life? Could the drive of your inner voice be more pro-FLIGHT than pro-FIGHT ? Have we allowed fear to turn our minds off to bettering ourselves or even the excitement of the unknown, the desire for personal growth or, like a kid, the craving to absorb new and exciting experiences?

Think back when at one time or another we all fought for the front seat of the car! Why did we do that? Was it a young open mind that was completely without fear, a mind that hungered for growth, welcomed the biggest of challenges or was being in that front seat a symbol of being a leader?

It is always easier to avoid the challenges in life and let yourself be pushed into the proverbial back seat but “what if” you again were to fight your way into the infamous front seat?

While in that front seat without fear and having an open mind what do you suppose you would see…

Not only can the attributes of FEAR deny us growth in our personal lives, it can do the same to our businesses!

Are you pro-Fight or pro-Flight when it comes to your business? Do you fear technology simply because you haven’t kept up with it? Does fear of it intimidate you into silence? Are you willing to let Fear drive you into bankruptcy?

The landscape in the business world has changed dramatically in just the last few short years.

With huge increases in the cost of doing business it is imperative that Entrepreneurs and business managers alike stay flexible and open minded. With the ever growing opportunities available through cutting-edge technology it not only helps us reduce our costs of being in business but it can increase the profits by helping businesses rekindle or improve their relationships with past and current customers thus turning them back into buying customers!

More importantly, newer and much more powerful marketing techniques like Social Media Marketing has the ability to target YOUR specific customer and convert them into a dedicated paying client!

That’s smart growth through technology!

Moving forward and improving our situation, whether it’s personal or business, requires us to stay engaged and fight the fight. Never be satisfied because there is always be something better.

Maintaining an open mind allows you to accept change and with that you will find the strength to stay in the fight!

Highway

YOUR Highway of Choice?

That is the question! With Social Media around every corner you turn these days, you have to ask yourself the question; Am I going to be late to the party in jumping into the social media phenomenon? It is an important question you should be asking yourself, especially now that there is a fundamental shift in where consumers are seeking out information prior to engaging businesses and purchasing products and services.

When was the last time you physically opened a phone book (the Yellow Pages) to seek out a number for a local business or service? If your answer was, “not in quite a while” then I have made my point.

If you are like most you are going to a search engine like Google and searching for information, which by‐the‐way brings me to my next question:

  • If you were to Google yourself and/or your business what would you find?
  • More importantly, if you’re a business what would your potential prospects and current clients find?

If your answer is not very much or even next to nothing the good news is that Online Business PROs can help.

Entrepreneurs and Businesses alike who do not embrace Social Media now will have a very difficult time thriving and surviving in this new informational environment.

The best way I like to explain the social media revolution is relating it to the impact that Interstate 40 had on the legendary Route 66. From 1926 through 1985, U.S. Route 66 was the 2,451 mile main thoroughfare from Chicago to Southern California. And any business along the “Mother Road” was sure to be prosperous. Then something happened – a newer, faster and safer route was established across the southern U.S. ultimately decommissioning Route 66 on June 27th, 1985 from the U.S. Highway System.

Once thriving businesses began to slowly die off as travelers gravitated toward the newer, more convenient and faster way of traveling across the south. In our world, the traditional way of gathering information (or Route 66) from newspapers, phone books, TV commercials, and radio is moving online (Interstate 40) where it is faster and more convenient to get information people are looking for. Businesses who are recognizing this early in the game are thriving because they have established an effective online presence where prospects can find their products and services.

It’s now time to let Online Business PROs get you off Route 66 and onto the Informational Highway where you can strengthen relationships with existing customers and convert prospects looking for your products and services into long term dedicated customers.

Happy Motoring,
